Background

Yamit is a very young project. I have been doing OS research for several of years, but started actual implementation just recently. ( Fall 2000)

Current Status

Presently, work is mostly concentrated around x86 port of the OS. We are getting it ready for alpha release.
Binaries are available for download.
Please understand project is in development, thus some binaries might have defects.
Next big project is developing new POSIX Single Server. Once that is done we going to start working on Multiserver.
In a future we are planning to split developers in Microkernel and Server teams.

Participation

Project is in active development stage. It evolves every day. Anybody willing to contribute time and expertise to this project please visit our documents section, subscribe to yamit-development mailing list and/or contact me at ishmukler@yamit.org.
